Whole Foods, Vegetable Rich Diet

Customize your diet to meet your individual metabolic and cancer recurrence prevention needs.

Lean Body Mass

AVOID the SCALE!  I know that you've always been told that the best way to assess your frame is with BMI (Height/Weight), but this can be very misleading information, especially for those trying to shed some extra pounds.  What is MOST important is your LEAN BODY MASS, which is a measure of your MUSCLE mass.  Building and maintaining healthy muscle mass in your large muscles (think legs, gluts, arms) provides your body with highly metabolic tissue that acts like an internal anti-aging machine for your body across the board.  Need more lean body mass?  See #3 above and we'll monitor your progress.

Specific Blood Testing

"The Oncometabolic Syndrome" is a term that has been suggested to explain some very interesting correlations with evaluation of risk factors for chronic disease and risk of initial cancer diagnosis or cancer recurrence.  You no longer need to wonder if all the healthy changes you have made are having an impact on your risk for cancer recurrence because we can individually monitor your progress to ensure that you are doing all that you can.

DAILY EXERCISE

I know you know, but do you REALLY know?  Next to quitting smoking, regular, DAILY exercise will do more for your overall health, immune function and ability to prevent cancer and chronic disease more than anything else.  Let's move!

LIFESTYLE FACTORS

Do you smoke? The single most important step you can take for your health is to get the resources you need to QUIT NOW.  I can help!

Do you drink alcohol?  Moderate consumption is defined as 1 drink per day for women and 2 drinks per day for men.  Research shows, however, that even a single drink per night will increase women's risk of breast cancer.  If you drink, try to do so as minimally as possible.

Do you get 7-8 hours of sleep per night?  Sleep is crucial for your optimal health and immune system function.  Please let me know if you don't get enough sleep and we will work together to improve this!

Do you regularly practice stress management techniques?  Research shows that chronic, unmanaged stress can have a substantially adverse impact on your health, including your risk for cancer.  While some stress in life is unavoidable, daily practice of  stress reduction techniques can greatly improve your body's response to stress when it comes your way.
